This class focuses on special techniques we might learn from the masters like cubist collage from Picasso, painted pointillism from Seurat, and contour line drawings from Lichtenstein. Discover how your student might reuse these clever techniques in their own artwork. (6 classes)

Marbling is a really exciting process that has nothing to do with marbles! We will learn to float colored paint on special water as you tease designs to print onto socks. You will not believe the things you can do once you learn this process!

Bookmaking with MJ Goerke

Painting Intensive with Jennifer Klemp

For the high school student interested in pursuing art in college or just advancing your studio painting skills. Using oil and acrylic paints, this class focuses on both traditional and contemporary techniques. Create work to submit into a college portfolio, find out what colleges look for and improve your understanding of painting. (6 classes)

Photography Intensive with Garry Rose

The goal of this class is to give the high schooler a greater knowledge base and more technincal skills to fully enjoy photography. The student will be introduced to tools that can help with composition, focal points and much more. Digital and manual camera users are welcome! (6 classes)

Batik Silk Painting with Julie Dubrouillet

Batik is the process of creating art on fabric by applying melted wax to silk, creating separate sections in which applying dye creates pictures and figures. In the class you will batik a scarf and a number of small pieces suitable for matting and framing. Be prepared with ideas of what you would like to create. (3 classes)

Join internationally published, award-winning author Julie Failla Earhart to practice the craft of fiction and to learn the nuts and bolts of getting published. Children's Book Illustration with Richard Bernal

Children’s book illustration is both a fine art in its own right as well as an essential aspect of the literary composition of the book in its entirety. Introduction to Photography

Glass Beads for Adults 16 and Up with Craft Alliance

Learn to work with hot glass to make colorful beads.  Using small torches, glass rods and mandrels, you will learn the techniques of making glass beads for jewelry or sculptures. (3 classes)

Marbling Technique with Ricky Cook Peterson

Marbling is an ancient art that involves floating colors on size or thickened water.  You will start by marbling several sheets of paper, then learn to mix the size and the paints.  Finally, you will marble socks and scarves.  If time permits, you will create journals and cards from the marbled paper.  (3 classes)

Painting with Pastels with Barbara Remley Martin

Using pastel in a painterly method, students will become more familiar with color and texture, under-painted supports, and the various types of pastels. Each class will include color exercises, painting demontrations and painting time. Book Illustration with Richard Bernal

Illustration is both a fine art in its own right as well as an essential aspect of the literary composition of the book in its entirety. In this class, the student will learn a variety of illustrative styles, media, and techniques represented in literature. (5 classes)

Join nationally-recognized metalsmith Sherri Jaudes in this new metals course.  You will be introduced to the techniques of cutting, joining and finishing metal. The students will learn the 7 joints and beginning fabrication techniques. (6 classes)
