The Gallery at Chesterfield Arts
The Gallery at Chesterfield Arts exhibits quality artwork by professional artists from the region. New exhibits are featured every eight to ten weeks giving the community the opportunity to experience the diversity of talent from the St. Louis region. Artist-made jewelry, books, notecards and specialty items are also available year-round in the gallery boutique. New Media Exhibition April 18 - June 21 Featuring the work of regional artists exploring new media including video installation, digital photography and digital painting. Artists include Cate Anevski, Janice Nesser, Bill Reidy and Jennifer Weigel. Opportunities Art in the Park[ing Lot] 2008 June 13-14, 2008 Art in the Park[ing Lot] is a community art fair, presented by Chesterfield Arts, every year on Father's Day weekend. The event features art booths featuring regional artists, hands-on art activities for children and adults, performances, workshops and more. Started in 2002 as a way to showcase the local artistic talent to audiences in West County and beyond, it has grown from a small one-day event into a two-day festival, with more than 3500 in attendance last year. New for 2008 - Art in the Park becomes Art in the Park[ing Lot]! The event will move from Faust Park to the area directly between Chesterfield Arts and the Chesterfield Mall. This higher visibility location will be an exciting change and bring an even bigger audience growth in 2008. 2008 Jurors Sarah Colby, mixed media artist and Arts + Healthcare Coordinator for Barnes-Jewish Hospital John Cross, regional painter and Art Studio Technician at St. Charles Community College Robin Hirsch, Associate Director at Art St. Louis Awards Jurors will visit each booth during the fair and award one artist "Best in Show" - a $500 cash prize and automatic entry into Art in the Park[ing Lot] 2009.
TIMELINE May 2 - Artists' submissions due May 19 - Artist notifications mailed May 30 - Artist acceptance/booth fees due June 2 - Last day to cancel for a refund June 13 & 14 - Art in the Park[ing Lot] REQUIREMENTS Images: 3-5 digital images of artwork and one (1) booth image (JPEG format, 300 dpi, sized no larger than 4 x 6 inches, file name = title of the work; include a complete list of each image submitted, including title, year, dimensions and medium) Jury Fee: $20 for CA members; $25 for all others Download the Guidelines & Entry Form
Members Only Exhibition June 27 – August 16, 2008 Chesterfield Arts is pleased to present the inaugural Members Only biennial exhibition in The Gallery at Chesterfield Arts. The exhibition is open to all Chesterfield Arts’ member artists. Any artist living or working within a 100-mile radius of St. Louis with a current membership with Chesterfield Arts at any level is eligible. Submissions from all media will be considered. This is a juried exhibition and judging will be based on originality and creativity, design, technique, craftsmanship and professional presentation. Deadline for entry is Friday, May 9, 2008. Artist Level Membership COMING SOON! Chesterfield Arts is pleased to announce a new Artist membership level for 2008. In addition to the great benefits offered as a standard member of Chesterfield Arts, the new Artist Level will provide services specifically geared toward fostering and promoting the success of regional artists. The Artist level is open to regional artists (residing within a 100-mile radius of St. Louis) of all disciplines and skill levels.
