3rd – 5th Grade Classes
Take a Seat Public Art Class
Learn how to implement a design onto a fiberglass-formed chair to be permanently installed in the Chesterfield Communtiy. Professional working artists will instruct students on how to create a design, learn about techniques and materials for fiberglass and how to execute their design ideas onto the chair. Students will work on these chairs in the studios of Chesterfield Arts. Once completed, students will unveil their public artwork at The Chesterfield Amphitheater Unveiling Event June 2, 2012.

Music, Drama, Dance and More!
Make this chair dance with your ideas. Music, drama, dance and more can be the inspiration for this public artwork that will go on display permanently at the Chesterfield Amphitheatre.

Painting and Drawing
Join us for painting and drawing class where each student will paint a canvas and work on many different drawing activities! Students will work with a variety of paint and drawing mediums, and complete several pieces to take home. By the end of the week each student will understand the importance of composition, color, and line.

Pottery Wheel and Hand-building
Explore sculpture and ceramics working with kiln-fired clay. Students will create useful items or artistic gifts for friends and family. They will learn unique, but simple, ceramic techniques. Then they will artisically glaze and complete several finished pieces in this class.

Sculpture Creations
Think outside the box with this unique sculpture class. This is a hands-on class where students will create 3 dimensional art with various mediums such as clay, paper, and wire. They will learn problem solving as well as the importance of scale and proportion.
